Alhaji Tijani Borodo is a seasoned lawyer who holds an LLB
(Hons) degree (1979) was called to the bar in 1980 and bagged
an LLM degree from the University of Essex, U.K. in 1985.
He has attended various courses and workshops both in Nigeria
and Overseas among which are Implementation of Company Regulations,
Senior Bankers' Course by Manchester Business School, Leadership
& Management of Change at London Management Center,
Managerial Assessment of Proficiency (MAP-PLUS), Company
Direction Seminar and Making Corporate Board More Effective
at Harvard Business School, Boston, U.S.A.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bars Association (NBA),
Institute of Directors (IoD) and an Honorary Senior Member,
Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB).
Before his career with First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Alhaji
Borodo had a stint with the Ministry of Justice, Kano State
where between 1980 and 1987 he held various positions from
Pupil State Counsel to Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He joined FBN as a Regional Legal Manager (North), Kano
in 1988 and in 1991 was transferred to Head Office, Lagos
as Assistant Company Secretary. He rose to the position
of the Deputy Company Secretary in January 1994 and in April
1994; he was appointed the Acting Company Secretary to the
25th Annual General Meeting of the Bank.
Then in June 1999 he was confirmed the Company Secretary
of the Bank which position he holds till date. He is married
with children.
