Amidu Akinyemi holds a Bachelor degree in Banking and Finance from the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. He is also an Associate of both the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management. He is also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR).

He began his accounting career with Rims Securities Limited in 1987 as the Head,Accounts & Operation.In 1999 he was the Deputy Manager,Finance & Accounts of Chimimex Nigeria Limited.In 2000 he became the Investment Manager of Lighthouse Trustee and later the Group Manager ,Finance & Admin of Tripod Holding Limited in 2002.

Akinyemi joined First Registrar in 2004 and has been involved with the successful completion of such Public/Rights Offers as Zenith Bank Plc,Oceanic Bank Plc, Vono Products Plc (2005),Oando Plc (2004).Cornerstone Insurance Plc (2002) and Investment Banking and Trust Company Private Placement (2005).

He is married with children.
